My Story
In December 2022 I was extremely ill and taken to the Intensive Care Unit at St Thomas hospital (ITU). I had Pneumonia, Invasive Strep a, Sepsis, Covid, anaphylactic shocks, a blood transfusion, a failing heart, a failing kidney, and a collapsed lung, resulting in Severe Respiratory Failure. I was put in a coma and on a life support machine called ECMO. ECMO in simple terms worked as my artificial lung so that my lung could rest... Twelve days later I would wake up from my coma.
And now a few months on, I would absolutely love to give back to the hospital that performed a miracle and saved my life... Because of them my precious little boy got to keep his Mummy.
On Saturday September 23rd, exactly 9 months to the date that I got to go home, I'm taking on the 'St Thomas Abseil 2023', down St Thomas hospital in support of the incredible NHS staff, and the exceptional healthcare they provide.
I will add that I am absolutely terrified of heights. Since what happened I am absolutely terrified of everything, but this means so so much to me, any donation to them is beyond appreciated.
Thank you.
